About Joey: Growing up in a family strongly orientated around music, I learnt piano and clarinet from an early age and eventually moved onto the saxophone. I've taken part in jazz ensembles like SYJE (Shrophire Youth Jazz Orchestra) and WJO (Walsall Jazz Orchestra). When Akwila formed back in 2003 the differrent style of music, even with its' strong jazz/funk influences, attracted me and the guys make it alot of fun aswell. At the moment I'm studying at Birmingham Conservatoire.
